Empowering Through Adventure
at Outside Perspectives
The OP Story
“I wanted to design a program to build on the skills and relationships formed on an expedition. Instead of asking them to leave their community for this transformative experience, I wanted to invite them to bring their whole community along.”
~Nicola Wood, Founder & Executive Director
Outside
Our programs are designed to introduce youth to the benefits of being in beautiful wild spaces. They give them the tools to feel more comfortable spending time in these spaces.
Unplugged
Our programs are technology-free. Time away from screens removes distractions. It allows individuals to be present in the moment. This nurtures mindfulness and creates space to reflect on what they have learned.
Connected
We use the wilderness as a tool to reconnect youth to each other, their communities, themselves, and nature.
Empowered
Our programs allow youth to safely step outside of their comfort zones, build resilience and grit, and take healthy risks. They leave feeling more in control of their lives and ready to take ownership and responsibility through leadership roles.
OUR VISION
All young people are engaged in healthy communities that encourage their full potential.
OUR MISSION
Cultivate lasting personal growth and positive community engagement by offering a spectrum of transformative outdoor experiences.
